This weekend we headed off to Wales for round 2-3 of the Funcup UK championship at Anglesey.

After a positive round 1 we were confident we could build on that result and hopefully make some championship places across the weekend. Both races were 3 hours long but race 1 had a twist where it was double points for wherever you finished after the 3 hours. Friday practice was very eventful after our other team mate had a large accident causing some series damage to the car. We lost most of the afternoon fixing the car and getting it ready for the last couple of sessions.

The team worked amazingly and managed to get us out for the last practice session of the day. Ed went out first and the car felt good considering the size of the accident it had been involved in and we felt confident for the race day.

In race one we had an excellent race finishing in P9 for the double points race out of 25. The car felt excellent for the whole race and the team made some excellent pit stops to help us climb up the order throughout the race.

Chris and I were extremely fast during the race and are lap times weren’t far off the race leaders which was very positive for us. Going into the last stint Ed got into the car and most of his stint was under safety car which gave us a great chance as it bunched up the pack and gave Ed the chance to make up place at the end of the stint.

With 5 laps to go the safety car came in and Ed managed to make up an extra 2 places which gave them the 9th position. We were extremely happy with that result for the first race.
