Round One of the FunCup UK championship was hosted at Oulton Park in the Heart of Cheshire.

Myself and Ed jumped in the car on Friday morning after 6 months out and managed to get back into the swing of things throughout the day. After a successful test day we had optimistic hopes for the Saturday!

We woke up on Saturday morning to torrential rain, having never raced at Oulton Park in the wet conditions or in a Funcup race it was totally new territory for us. In qualifying me and my Brother managed to drag the car into the top 20 to start the race in 18th place.

This set us up nicely for the race which was going to be a wet one. Ed was in the car during stint 2 and 5, he drove a very good race staying with the top 10 that made it easy for me when I jumped in the car in stint 3 and 6. On both occasions I was in the top 10.

With two laps to go and in P7 a safety car came out due to a separate incident. At the restart I made a small mistake which dropped us down to 9th at the flag. Overall a fantastic weekends racing after a 6 month break! Now looking forward to Anglesey in 3 weeks.
